I love the Dodgers; always have. But I was ready to throw in the towel for the team after the All-Star break. Now they've gone 16-1 in their last 17 games, and stand atop the NL West. Sure, it might fall apart, but I'm sure enjoying the run.
A couple of jackasses at a Korn show killed a guy in the mosh pit. Besides the obvious question (can't we weed out these idiots before they cause this kind of trouble?), here are a couple more: Why are mosh pits still allowed at shows?
A story about Digg.com's rising popularity (see link below), culled from Fortune magazine, was the top "Recently Popular" story on Digg this morning. Which, if users hadn't rated the story that high, would seem an act of shameless self-promotion.

This reminded me of all the "scientists have found that drinking soda can make kids fat"-type stories I've seen lately. Ridiculous. I propose a change to the phrase "fight or flight." Let's call it "stick around or get out of the area."
His steady production, a lone bright spot during a season of murky darkness for the Dodgers, could culminate in the NL Rookie of the Year award. But only if people start talking about him. For your consideration, Andre Ethier. A rookie with game and humility.
